Gala Girls: Expat Harem Editors at American Business Forum EventOn February 20th, Expat Harem editors Anastasia Ashman and Jennifer Gokmen attended the American Business Forum in Turkey Gala at Hilton Convention Center in Istanbul. Promoting commerce and bilateral trade and investment with Turkey through advocacy, diplomacy, information exchange and networking, ABFT serves as an American Chamber of Commerce in Turkey and represents approximately 60 US firms operating in the country.
Among the 300 government, corporate, and NGO attendees were the US Consul General to Istanbul, Sharon Wiener, and Turkish Transportation Minister, Hilmi Guler, photographed here with Anastasia, Jennifer, and Expat Harem contributor Dena Sukaya (far left). Dena, author of "The Business of the Bazaar", runs the Ottoman Trading Company in Seattle, Washington, and was in town especially for the ABFT Gala as her dynamic husband Galip Sukaya is its Chairman.
Ms. Wiener, posted to Istanbul just six months ago, told us she's a fan of the Expat Harem anthology, having recently read it during a trip to Italy.
